Kuwait City: Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the drone attack targeting the Saudi hospital in Al-Fasher City in Sudan's Darfur region, Sunday, which left casualties and injuries among civilians. The attack has raised significant concerns about the safety of healthcare facilities and the ongoing conflict in the region.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that this attack is a clear violation of international humanitarian law, emphasizing its firm rejection of such violations. The ministry highlighted the critical need for all parties involved to adhere to international norms and ensure the safety of both civilians and infrastructure.
The statement released by the Ministry called for the protection of workers in the health and humanitarian sectors. It stressed the importance of exercising restraint, avoiding the targeting of civilians, and implementing the Jeddah Declaration on the Protection of Civilians, which was signed on April 15, 2023. The declaration aims to provide a framework for safeguarding civilians in conflict zones and ensuring humanitarian aid can be delivered safely.
