Kuwait city: The Saudi Foreign Ministry Saturday strongly condemned "criminal" attacks carried out by Rapid Support Forces against Al-Kuweik Military Hospital, a World Food Programme (WFP) humanitarian aid convoy, and a vehicle transporting displaced civilians.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the ministry stated that these attacks resulted in the killing of tens of unarmed civilians, including women and children, and caused damage to humanitarian facilities and aid convoys in the states of North and South Kordofan, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
These acts are unjustifiable under any circumstances and constitute flagrant violations of all humanitarian norms and relevant international agreements, it added.
The ministry called on the Rapid Support Forces to immediately cease these violations and to fulfill their moral and humanitarian obligations by ensuring the safe and unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need, in line with international humanitarian law and the Jeddah Declaration (Commitment to Protecting Civilians in Sudan), signed on May 11, 2023.
Furthermore, it reiterated the Kingdom's firm support for Sudan's unity, security, and stability, stressing the necessity of preserving its legitimate institutions.
