Russia Makes Significant Concessions in Ukraine War Negotiations – US VP

Washington: US Vice President JD Vance announced on Sunday that Russia has made "significant concessions" towards achieving a negotiated settlement in the ongoing conflict with Ukraine. Vance expressed confidence in the progress being made, despite the absence of clear advancements toward ending the hostilities.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Vance shared these insights during an appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press with Kristen Welker." He highlighted that Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to several concessions, including providing Ukraine with security guarantees to protect against future Russian aggression. Vance noted, "I think the Russians have made significant concessions to President Trump for the first time in three and a half years of this conflict."

Vance elaborated on the specific concessions, mentioning that Russia has acknowledged its inability to establish a puppet regime in Kyiv, a major demand at the conflict's inception. Additionally, Russia has recognized the necessity of providing security guarantees for Ukraine's territorial integrity. Furthermore, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov indicated in an interview that a coalition of nations, including members of the United Nations Security Council, should act as guarantors of Ukraine's security.
