Road Accidents Claim 24 Lives in Pakistan

Lahore: At least 24 people were killed and over 20 others were injured in two separate accidents on Saturday in Pakistan's eastern Punjab and southwestern Balochistan provinces, said authorities.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Punjab Rescue 1122 officials reported that at least 14 people, including six children, lost their lives while nine others sustained injuries when a truck carrying cargo and passengers plunged into a canal from the Galapur Bangla bridge due to fog. The truck was en route from Islamabad to Faisalabad with 23 people on board for a funeral when the incident occurred.

In another accident, 10 people died and over a dozen were injured when a speeding passenger coach overturned on the Makran Coastal Highway at Hudd Goth in Balochistan province. The Edhi rescue service confirmed that 10 people, including a girl, were killed in the coach accident. The coach was traveling to Jiwani from Karachi city.
