Riyadh: Saudi Arabia renewed its categorical opposition to the attempts of forced displacement of Palestinians, affirming its full support for the two-state solution.
According to Kuwait News Agency, before the 34th ordinary Arab Summit, Saudi State Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir made the statement, emphasizing that the exceptional circumstances surrounding the Palestinian cause require continuous joint efforts to end the humanitarian suffering of Palestinians. He called for an end to the crimes and violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces, which he stated are a flagrant violation of the UN Charter, international laws, resolutions, and norms.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stressed the necessity of achieving a sustainable ceasefire in the besieged Gaza Strip and categorically rejected any attempts at the forced displacement of Palestinians. Al-Jubeir underscored the importance of solutions that align with the Palestinians' aspirations and legitimate rights to self-determination, including the establishment of an independent state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Al-Jubeir also addressed other regional issues, rejecting Israeli occupation attacks on Syrian territories and highlighting the significance of supporting the Syrian government to address security challenges. He emphasized the need for intensified Arab efforts to confront attempts that aim to destabilize Syria.
Additionally, Al-Jubeir praised the decision by US President Donald Trump during his recent visit to Riyadh to lift sanctions on Syria, viewing it as an opportunity for recovery, development, rebuilding, and prosperity in Gaza.
In regard to Sudan, Saudi Arabia continued its efforts to promote permanent dialogue between disputing parties to achieve a full ceasefire, end the crisis, alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people, accelerate the delivery of humanitarian aid, and preserve Sudan's sovereignty, unity, and stability.
Efforts to achieve security and stability in Yemen were also highlighted, alongside support for the political process to reach a resolution to the conflict. Al-Jubeir reiterated the importance of securing maritime corridors and ensuring the safety and freedom of navigation, which he stated is an international demand crucial to global interests.
On Lebanon, Al-Jubeir emphasized Saudi Arabia's support for efforts by the Lebanese President to reform institutions and ensure weapons are placed in the hands of the state. He expressed hope that the Lebanese government would meet the aspirations of its people by maintaining Lebanon's security, stability, and territorial integrity.
Finally, the Saudi minister stressed the importance of expanding joint Arab action on international and regional issues and continuing the development path in a manner that serves the interests and meets the aspirations of Arab nations for a stable and safe future.
