Qatar Summons Iranian Ambassador Over Al-Udeid Airbase Attack

Doha: The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken a decisive step by summoning Iranian Ambassador to Qatar Ali Abadi. This action follows a concerning incident on Monday involving an attack on the Al-Udeid airbase, as stated in a press release from the ministry.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Qatar views the attack as a clear violation of its sovereignty, airspace, and the United Nations charter. The Qatari authorities emphasized their right to respond in a manner that aligns with international law, underscoring the seriousness of the situation.

During the meeting, the Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sultan Al-Muraikhi, conveyed to Ambassador Abadi that such actions are inconsistent with the principles of good neighborliness and the historically close relations between Qatar and Iran. Al-Muraikhi highlighted the importance of dialogue and diplomatic solutions to prevent further conflict, reduce tensions, and cease military operations, thereby promoting regional and international stability.
