Qatar State Budget Records QAR 1.4 Billion Deficit in Third Quarter

Doha: The Qatari Ministry of Finance announced on Thursday that the state's public budget recorded a deficit of QAR 1.432 billion during the third quarter of 2025, covering the months of July, August, and September. This deficit was financed through debt instruments, as reported by the official Qatari news agency.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Ministry detailed that total revenues for the third quarter amounted to approximately QAR 49.155 billion, marking a 4.1 percent decline compared to the same period in 2024. Meanwhile, total expenditures reached approximately QAR 50.587 billion, showing a decrease of 1.2 percent compared to the third quarter of the previous year.

The Ministry's statement further outlined that oil revenues during this period amounted to QAR 43.356 billion, while non-oil revenues were QAR 5.799 billion. These figures were based on an average oil price of USD 68.1 per barrel during the quarter.

Additionally, the Ministry of Finance specified the distribution of expenditures for the quarter: QAR 17.190 billion was allocated for salaries and wages, QAR 19.597 billion for current expenditures, with major capital expenditures accounting for QAR 12.623 billion, and minor capital expenditures totaling QAR 1.177 billion.
