Doha: The Qatari Cabinet on Wednesday strongly condemned what it described as a criminal and cowardly Israeli attack on residential buildings in Doha that housed members of the Hamas political bureau.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the condemnation came in a statement by Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim Al-Mohannadi following a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.
The Cabinet described the attack as blatant state terrorism and a grave violation of Qatar's sovereignty, endangering the safety of citizens and residents and breaching all international laws and norms.
The statement affirmed that Qatar would take all necessary measures to protect its national security and sovereignty and reiterated its support for just causes and its solidarity with peoples under occupation or injustice.
The Cabinet stressed that the attack, which occurred as Qatar was exerting maximum diplomatic efforts to promote peace in the region, exposes the aggressive nature of the Israeli occupation government and its disregard for international law and the UN Charter.
It called for a firm international stance to deter such reckless and unlawful actions, warning of the consequences for regional and global peace and stability.
The Cabinet offered heartfelt condolences over the death of Corporal Badr Al-Dosari, who was martyred during his duties at the site of the attack, and extended sympathy to the families of other victims, wishing a swift recovery to the injured.
It also expressed deep appreciation to all states, organizations, and international bodies that swiftly condemned the Israeli aggression and stood in solidarity with Qatar.
The Cabinet assigned the Interior Minister to lead a security review and tasked a legal team headed by a senior Foreign Ministry official to pursue legal action over the violation.
