Pres. Trump Urges New Presidential Elections in Ukraine Amid Criticism of European Leaders

Kuwait city: US President Donald J. Trump has renewed his call for fresh presidential elections in Ukraine, criticizing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other European leaders for their tepid response to his peace plan for Ukraine. In an interview with POLITICO on Tuesday, Trump described Europe as a "decaying" group of nations led by "weak" individuals, criticizing them for their inability to control migration and end the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Trump expressed his willingness to support European political candidates who align with his vision for the continent. He indicated his intention to continue backing preferred candidates, even if it risks offending local sensibilities. "I'd endorse. I've endorsed people, but I've endorsed people that a lot of Europeans don't like," Trump stated, highlighting his support for Viktor Orban, the Hungarian prime minister known for his strict border control policies.

Regarding Ukraine, Trump reiterated the need for new presidential elections, arguing that the absence of recent elections undermines the democratic process in the country. "They (the Ukrainians) haven't had an election in a long time," he said. "You know, they talk about a democracy, but it gets to a point where it's not a democracy anymore," Trump added.
