Vatican City: The Vatican announced on Friday that Pope Francis' health worsened due to a bronchial spasm, which caused a sudden decline in his respiratory functions and required artificial respiration. According to Kuwait News Agency, the spasm resulted in vomiting, some of which were aspirated, impacting his respiratory function. Following bronchial suction to clear the airways, the Pope responded positively to the treatment and remained conscious and aware, actively cooperating with the medical team. The Vatican has announced that Pope Francis's health is still unclear and will be watched closely over the next few days. Earlier on Friday, he appeared to be getting better, but then he faced some new health issues. The Pope has been receiving treatment at Gemelli Hospital in Rome since the 14th of this month for a lung infection and pneumonia affecting both lungs.
