Palestinian VP Meets with Former British PM on Day Two of Gaza Ceasefire

Amman: Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh met on Sunday with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair in Amman, Jordan, to discuss Day Two of the Gaza Strip ceasefire.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the meeting focused on ensuring the success of efforts led by US President Donald Trump aimed at stopping the war and achieving peace in the region. A statement from Al-Sheikh’s office in Ramallah highlighted the discussions.

Al-Sheikh affirmed the Palestinian leadership’s readiness to collaborate with President Trump, Blair, and other relevant partners to support the ceasefire. The objectives include delivering humanitarian aid, releasing hostages and prisoners, and advancing towards recovery and reconstruction in the region.

The Vice President stressed the need to halt all measures impacting the Palestinian Authority, particularly the release of withheld Palestinian funds. He also called for stopping any actions that could undermine the two-state solution and the broader pursuit of peace.
