Ramallah: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday expressed readiness to work constructively with US President Donald Trump and stakeholders for achieving stability, just and viable peace in the Middle East.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Abbas, in a press statement published by the official Palestinian news agency, Wafa, emphasized the need for an immediate commitment to a full cease-fire, the release of all hostages and prisoners, and the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid into Gaza via United Nations organizations. He stressed the importance of ensuring no recurrence of evictions or annexation and called for the start of reconstruction in Gaza. Abbas affirmed that sovereignty over the Gaza Strip belongs to the State of Palestine and emphasized the need for the merger between the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Abbas added that he would continue coordination with mediators and stakeholders to ensure the success of efforts aimed at achieving a viable peace that ends the Israeli occupation of the State of Palestine's territories.
