Palestinian Presidency Urges International Protection for Journalists Amid Attacks

Ramallah: The Palestinian Presidency on Monday called for urgent action by the international community, particularly the United Nations and the Security Council, to protect journalists and hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its actions against media personnel.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the presidency issued a statement condemning the Israeli occupation forces for committing heinous crimes at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis. During the incident, five journalists were killed while performing their professional and humanitarian duties of documenting what has been described as a war of genocide against the Palestinian people.

The statement emphasized that targeting journalists is a clear violation of international laws and conventions that guarantee the safety of journalists and press freedom. The presidency labeled the attack as another war crime, adding to a long history of massacres and crimes by the Israeli occupation aimed at silencing Palestinian media.

Holding the Israeli occupation government responsible for the attack, the presidency urged human rights organizations and international entities to take immediate action to halt these systematic assaults on Palestinians. The attack on the medical complex resulted in the deaths of 20 Palestinians, including journalists, medical staff, and patients.
