Alamein: Palestinian Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa praised Egypt's stance in support of the Palestinian people, affirming that this position was decisive in preventing the displacement of Palestinians from their land.
According to Kuwait News Agency, this acknowledgment came during Mustafa's meeting with Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty in the city of Alamein, as part of his visit to Egypt. The meeting underscored Egypt's historic support for the Palestinian people, which Mustafa believes is crucial for the ongoing discussion of the Palestinian cause.
Mustafa emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination and consultation between both parties, expressing gratitude to Egyptian institutions for their efforts in aiding the Gaza Strip, notably during the Two-State Solution Conference held in New York last month, co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France. He highlighted the Arab-Islamic plan for Gaza's reconstruction, which focuses on rebuilding without displacing Palestinians, and expressed confidence in Egypt's role in this initiative.
In response, Madbouly reaffirmed Egypt's firm stance on the Palestinian issue and its rejection of any displacement plans, pledging continued support for the Gaza Strip. He emphasized the 24-hour operation of the Rafah crossing to ensure humanitarian aid reaches the Strip and reiterated Egypt's commitment to unified Palestinian territories under the Palestinian Authority. Madbouly called for a timeline to recognize an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Abdelatty echoed the commitment of both Egypt and Palestine to a two-state solution as the only viable path to peace. He commended the coordination between Egyptian and Palestinian sides, particularly in preparation for the Early Recovery and Reconstruction Conference for Gaza, set to follow a ceasefire. Abdelatty highlighted the necessity of international donor coordination for the recovery and reconstruction process and noted ongoing arrangements for the conference.
