Ramallah: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas renewed his full readiness to work closely with US President Donald Trump, along with relevant Arab and international parties, to engage in negotiations aimed at reaching a comprehensive peace agreement. The President emphasized the need for a clear and binding timeframe to end the occupation and achieve security and stability for all, alongside a just and lasting peace based on international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.
According to Kuwait News Agency, in a message sent to his American counterpart, President Abbas affirmed Palestine's readiness to collaborate with President Trump, Saudi Arabia, Arab and Islamic countries, and European and international partners to realize the promise of peace. He expressed his vision of a recognized, free, sovereign, and secure Palestine and a recognized and secure Israel within a peaceful and prosperous region. Abbas conveyed his hope and confidence in Trump's ability to create new history for the region and restore long-lost peace for generations.
The message also contained deep gratitude and appreciation for Trump's successful efforts in mediating a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, which Abbas viewed as a crucial step toward crisis defusion and regional stability. WAFA reported that President Abbas praised President Trump's courageous positions in advocating for an end to the conflict in the Gaza Strip and achieving an immediate and lasting ceasefire. This, according to Abbas, represents an additional step in Trump's vital efforts to achieve just and comprehensive peace between Palestinians and Israelis and globally, offering hope to the region that peace is attainable through will and leadership.
