Zhob: At least 33 militants trying to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border were killed by the security forces in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, said the military on Friday. According to Kuwait News Agency, a press release issued by Pakistan military's media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that the movement of a large group of militants, identified as belonging to "Indian proxy," was detected by security forces in the general area Sambaza of Zhob District in Balochistan. The militants were attempting to infiltrate through the border. Pakistani troops effectively engaged and thwarted their infiltration attempt, it further added. The military confirmed that as a result of precise, bold, and skillful engagement, 33 "Indian sponsored" militants were killed. Additionally, a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered. It was pointed out that an operation is ongoing to eliminate any other militants found in the area. "The security forces of Pakistan remain resolute and unwavering in their commitment to defend the nation's frontiers and to eradicate the menace of Indian sponsored terrorism from the country," the release stated. The operation followed a day after at least three soldiers of the Pakistan army and four militants were killed in an attack involving an improvised explosive device targeting a security forces vehicle in Balochistan province. Pakistan is experiencing a rise in terror attacks, particularly in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces bordering Afghanistan.
