Kuwait city: Pakistan extended the closure of its airspace for Indian aircraft for another month until January 23, 2026.
According to Kuwait News Agency, a Notam (notice to airmen) issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) on Wednesday stated that the restriction will remain effective from today. This applies to all Indian-owned, operated, and leased aircraft, including military flights. The decision continues with an existing restriction that has already been in place for the past eight months.
The Notam is applied to both Pakistani flight information regions, Karachi and Lahore. The extension was notified a week before the previous one was set to expire on December 24. Earlier in April, India and Pakistan closed their airspace to each other's airlines following heightened tensions between the two neighboring countries after an attack on the Indian side of Kashmir, which resulted in around 26 casualties.
