Moscow: Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Chief Haitham Al-Ghais praised the organization's strategic partnership with Russia, recognizing it as a pivotal player in maintaining the stability and sustainability of global oil markets.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Ghais emphasized during an interview at the Russian Energy Week 2025 forum that the collaboration between OPEC and Russia serves as a successful model of international cooperation. This partnership, he noted, is grounded in shared interests and a mutual vision for market stability, which helps ensure a balance between supply and demand.
Al-Ghais further stated that the OPEC+ alliance has consistently demonstrated its effectiveness in navigating economic challenges. He highlighted the ongoing coordination among member countries as a means of bolstering confidence in the oil industry.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also addressed participants at the Energy Week Forum, noting that Russia is hosting representatives from political, economic, and academic circles worldwide to discuss pressing global issues facing the oil sector. The 8th International Forum is being held in Moscow, Russia, from October 15 to 17, featuring participation from various countries, leaders of major energy companies and organizations, as well as specialized scientists and experts.
