Beirut: Lebanon announced on Thursday that one person was killed and eight others were injured in violent airstrikes launched by Israeli occupation forces on areas in the Nabatieh Governorate in southern Lebanon.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Israeli airstrikes resulted in a preliminary toll of one person's death, and the eight others, who were injured, were transferred to the hospital for treatment, said the Emergency Center of the Lebanese Ministry of Health in a statement.
The Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported that Israeli occupation forces launched violent raids in two waves, focusing on valleys and forested areas extending between the towns of Kfar Tebnit, Nabatieh Al-Fawqa, and Kfar Rumman. This caused panic among residents, who rushed to evacuate their children from schools, while most government offices closed due to the sudden military escalation, NNA added.
It also noted that reconnaissance aircraft flew with Israeli warplanes in southern airspace, particularly over the western and central sectors, and at medium altitude over the villages of the Bint Jbeil District in the south.
Israeli occupation forces continue to target towns in several areas, despite the ceasefire agreement that began on November 27 and the withdrawal of occupation forces from Lebanese territory, with the exception of a number of points along the southern border.
