Kuwait City: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has strongly criticized Ecuador's plan to establish an office in Jerusalem. The OIC expressed its disapproval of Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa's decision to open an office focused on "creativity and business leadership" with diplomatic functions in the city.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the OIC released a statement asserting that this move by Ecuador violates United Nations resolutions regarding occupied Jerusalem, particularly Security Council Resolution 478. This resolution urges countries with diplomatic missions in Jerusalem to withdraw them.
The OIC has urged Ecuador to reconsider its decision, emphasizing the importance of adhering to international legal and political obligations. It also called on Ecuador to avoid actions that could undermine the historical, legal, and political status of Jerusalem.
