Geneva: Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi emphasized the importance of fostering understanding and consensus to reach an agreement between Tehran and Washington. This was highlighted during their meeting in Geneva as they prepared for the second round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Omani Foreign Ministry issued a press release stating that the high-stakes negotiations are set to continue on Tuesday in Geneva, under the auspices of Oman. The Ministry quoted Al-Busaidi affirming Oman's ongoing commitment to dialogue and diplomacy, emphasizing the nation's dedication to promoting security, peace, and stability, while avoiding the devastation of wars and conflicts in the region.
Previously, Oman hosted the initial round of discussions between Iran and the United States in Muscat on February 6th. These talks were aimed at reaching a consensus between the two nations. The indirect negotiations included key figures such as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, US Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff, and senior advisor to President Donald Trump, Jared Kushner.
