Jeddah: His Excellency the newly elected Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, received congratulations from His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on gaining the confidence of the member states and being elected Secretary-General of the Organization.
According to Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, in his address to Their Excellencies the Ministers, His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom's unwavering support for the General Secretariat and the new Secretary-General, emphasizing the Saudi leadership's commitment to supporting the Organization's efforts to advance joint Islamic action and develop its mechanisms in the service of common interests.
For his part, His Excellency the Secretary-General, Mr. Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, government and people, commending the generous and continued support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the Organization and its mission and activities. His Excellency praised the Kingdom's leading and pivotal role in bridging divides and deepening the bonds of solidarity among Islamic countries, stressing his full commitment to sparing no effort to consolidate frameworks for cooperation and coordination among all member states and to achieve the aspirations of their peoples.
