Jerusalem: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned extremist Israeli occupation minister Itamar Ben-Gvir for breaking into Al-Aqsa Mosque under protection of occupation forces.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the organization stated that this act is part of the Israeli occupation's attempts to change the existing historical and legal status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The OIC holds the occupation government fully responsible for these actions, which provoke Muslims globally and threaten security and stability in the region.
The OIC has called on the international community to bear its responsibility and to put an end to these violations. They stressed the importance of maintaining the historical and legal status of Islamic and Christian holy sites in the occupied city of Jerusalem.
The incident involved hundreds of extremist settlers, including Israeli occupation National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque, performed Jewish rites, and engaged in dancing and shouting throughout the courtyard. This move is seen as an attempt to undermine the mosque's legal and historical status.
