The National Council for Women (NCW) commended a decision of Minister of Awqaf Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa to appoint 16 female leaders, including undersecretaries and directors-general, marking the first time in the ministry’s history.

NCW President Maya Morsi described the decision as a new victory for Egyptian women. “It reflects Gomaa’s belief in the capabilities and potentials of women, and his commitment to breaking the glass ceiling for their access to leadership positions in the ministry, in line with the Egyptian state’s approach to supporting and empowering women.”

Morsi extended her congratulations to all the women who have assumed leadership positions in the ministry, wishing them further success and prosperity.
