Kuwait city: The National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) organized a workshop titled "Houses of Clay" on Monday, as part of the Cultural Summer 17 festival. The event, which commemorates old Kuwaiti houses destroyed during the Iraqi invasion, featured the participation of 16 local artists and was held at the Museum of Modern Art.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the workshop organizer Nasser Al-Quraini shared that the concept for the event was inspired by photographs of houses in Failaka, which were documented five years ago. The workshop aims to revive the memory of these structures through artistic expression and will run for four days.
Al-Quraini noted that the workshop focuses on crafting and shaping with clay, allowing participants to create artistic works. He highlighted the importance of supporting potters and artists, recognizing the time and expertise required for their craft.
