Amman: Namaa Charity, affiliated with the Kuwait Social Reform Society, has launched a relief campaign aimed at assisting Syrian and Palestinian refugees, along with underprivileged Jordanian families in Jordan. The initiative involved 22 volunteers from the Athar Volunteer Center and reached approximately 700 families.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the campaign activities included distributing 350 food baskets, 400 heating vouchers, and 400 bundles of firewood, benefiting 200 families. Additionally, winter clothing was provided to 200 children from around 50 families. Khaled Al-Shammari, Head of Development and Relief Sector at Namaa Charity, emphasized that the initiative serves as both a relief effort and an educational experience, fostering responsibility and a sense of belonging toward humanitarian causes.
Al-Shammari highlighted that the campaign's impact extends beyond distributing aid, focusing on raising awareness among youth and restoring hope to families. He reaffirmed Namaa Charity's commitment to implementing initiatives that combine urgent relief with sustainable development. Al-Shammari also expressed gratitude to the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Jordan for its valuable support to Kuwaiti humanitarian efforts in the region.
Abeer Al-Hajras, Director of Athar Volunteer Center, noted that empowering youth through fieldwork offers an investment in their humanity and skills. She described the campaign as a meaningful experience for the volunteers involved.
