Kuwait city: The Muslim World League (MWL) expressed Sunday its eagerness, on behalf of the peoples of the Arab and Islamic worlds, in reaching a just and lasting peace through the high-level international conference to resolve the Palestinian issue through peaceful solutions and implement the two-state solution, chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in partnership with France.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, Sheikh Mohammad Al-Issa, stated that this historic event, held this week at the United Nations headquarters in New York, represents a turning point in the peace process based on international legitimacy resolutions and the principles of the historical and legal rights of the Palestinian people, which have been and will remain the way to achieve just and lasting peace in the region.
Al-Issa added that "all countries of the world must shoulder their historical responsibility at this juncture in the oppression of the Palestinian people," noting the importance of seizing the opportunity provided by the conference to stand on the right side of history and strengthen the legitimate position in support of the Palestinian rights, to uphold international justice, and to put an end to this humanitarian tragedy and its repercussions for the region, the international community, and the world.
Al-Issa affirmed the Muslim World League's and the peoples of the Islamic world's commitment to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's position on the Palestinian cause, praising the Kingdom's initiatives in this regard, particularly those related to the efforts undertaken under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and the follow-up of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammad bin Salman.
He pointed out that the Kingdom, through the international coalition it launched to implement the two-state solution and through its chairmanship of the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee, continues its efforts to enhance the prospects for peace.
The Secretary-General reiterated on the impartiality of the Palestinian cause and its centrality in the conscience of the Arab and Islamic peoples and every living conscience, based on the principles of historical and legal rights.
