Kuwait city: The Muslim World League (MWL) on Sunday condemned a terrorist attack that targeted Syrian security forces and US forces near the Syrian city of Palmyra. In a statement, the MWL's Secretary General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars (OMS), Dr. Mohammad Al-Issa, denounced the attack as a "treacherous terrorist crime," reiterating the League's rejection of violence and terrorism in all forms.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Dr. Al-Issa offered condolences to the victims' families, wished the injured a speedy recovery, and expressed full solidarity with Syria against threats to its security and stability. The attack underscored ongoing tensions and challenges in the region.
On Saturday, the US Department of Defense reported that two American soldiers and a US civilian interpreter were killed, and others were wounded, in an attack on joint US-Syrian forces in Palmyra, central Syria. The incident highlights the complex security situation in Syria and the risks faced by international and local forces working to maintain stability in the area.
