Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port Poised to Transform Kuwait’s Commercial Landscape

Boubyan Island: The Mubarak Al-Kabeer seaport project is a seminal venture that would enable Kuwait to become a central hub for cargo and commercial enterprises, said Minister of Public Work Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan on Sunday.

According to Kuwait News Agency, in a press statement while visiting the site of the project in Boubyan Island, Minister Al-Mashaan, who is also Acting Minister of Water, Electricity, and Renewable Energy, affirmed that the project is an important part of Kuwait Vision 2035. This vision aims to transform the country into a regional commercial and economic hub.

She asserted that the field inspection of Mubarak Al-Kabeer port aligns with the leadership's directive to expedite the construction process. The visit also aimed to assess the latest developments since the contract was signed and work began on March 16.

The Mubarak Al-Kabeer project is considered an integral part of Kuwait's broader development plan to establish itself as a regional and international center for commerce and economy.

Kuwait and China signed a Memorandum of Understanding last September, which includes work on the Mubarak Al-Kabeer port. This agreement is part of a series of collaborations that reflect the deep coordination and cooperation between the two countries.

The current contract for the port encompasses finalizing the design and providing a comprehensive vision for executing and operating the project.
