MoI Shuts Down 19 Illegal Commercial Shops, Arrests 26 Violators

Kuwait city: Kuwait's Ministry of Interior (MoI) launched on Saturday a large-scale campaign, closing 19 commercial shops that violated license terms and engaged in illegal activities in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Khaitan districts.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the ministry said the campaign, launched in collaboration with some government bodies, is part of common efforts aiming to confront negative manifestations and great violations.

Supervised by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, the campaign resulted in the arrest of 26 violators and the removal of some mobile grocery shops, it added.

Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah directed all concerned bodies to intensify their efforts to monitor and register all shops violating regulations, and to take urgent legal action against illegitimate practices and violators, it stated.

The ministry affirmed its commitments to launching repeatedly field campaigns, in collaboration and coordination with all competent bodies, within the framework of a plan aimed at combating all types of violations in a manner that enhances public security and safety and protects society, it noted.
