Kuwait city: The Ministry of Justice has signed protocols of cooperation with the Kuwait Bar Association (KBA), officially designating the association as a professional and community partner in the ministry's reform project aimed at modernizing legislation and developing the country's institutional justice infrastructure.
According to Kuwait News Agency, this significant agreement was signed by Acting Undersecretary Awatif Al-Sanad on behalf of the Ministry of Justice, and President Adnan Abul representing the Kuwait Bar Association. The signing ceremony took place at the KBA headquarters and was attended by Minister of Justice Counselor Nasser Al-Sumait.
Al-Sumait emphasized that the collaboration with KBA is vital for enhancing governance and facilitating data exchange. He pointed out that the KBA is uniquely positioned to address system shortcomings and problems, thereby playing a crucial role as a development partner. A direct communication channel is planned between the ministry and KBA to improve the services offered by the Ministry of Justice. The minister also highlighted the involvement of the judiciary and KBA as central to the system's development.
In his remarks, KBA President Adnan Abul stated that this protocol marks the first of its kind between civil society institutions and government ministries. He expressed appreciation for the trust and cooperation extended by the Ministry of Justice. The protocol outlines essential aspects such as a hotline for receiving comments and handling administrative matters, which will assist lawyers in their daily court dealings and interactions with various ministry departments and divisions.
