Minister Al-Huwaila Orders Forming Committee to Draft New Cooperative Regulations

Kuwait city: Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila has issued a resolution forming an extraordinary committee to draft bylaws for the cooperative sector. The commission, to be chaired by the undersecretary Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, will include several high-ranking officials from the ministry of social affairs tasked with handling cooperative affairs.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Minister Al-Huwaila stated that the decision aligns with instructions from the political leadership aimed at overhauling the sector, enhancing its role in development and social levels. This step also reflects the ministry's commitment to upgrading the legislation and regulations supporting the cooperative field.

The commission's responsibilities include studying and revising current cooperative regulations and enacting new rules to enhance governance and transparency. The minister noted that the commission is tasked with preparing a final report on its mission, along with the proposed bylaws, within 60 days, with a possibility of extending the deadline by an additional month.
