Cairo: Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi on Saturday welcomed world leaders and dignitaries participating in the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). "From the blessed land of Egypt, the cradle of human civilization, I welcome our distinguished guests, the leaders and eminent dignitaries of the world, as we gather together to witness the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which contains within its walls the vast treasures of Egypt's ancient civilization," Al-Sisi said in a post on Facebook.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the president emphasized the significance of the museum, noting that it combines the genius of ancient Egyptians with the creativity of modern Egyptians. He highlighted that the museum enhances global culture and art and serves as a new landmark for those who value civilization and knowledge. Al-Sisi expressed that the museum will be a source of pride to those who believe in the unity of humanity and the values of peace, love, and cooperation among nations.
Representing His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah arrived in Cairo on Wednesday to attend the event.
