Kuala Lumpur: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim expressed his appreciation for the participation of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's Representative, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, in the recently concluded second ASEAN-GCC summit and ASEAN-GCC-China summit in Kuala Lumpur.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Prime Minister made these remarks during a dinner banquet held in honor of the heads of delegations attending the summits. He underscored that the presence of His Highness the Amir's Representative signifies a deep bond and mutual trust between the participating nations.
The Prime Minister highlighted that these summits represent a pivotal moment for strategic cooperation between the ASEAN and GCC blocs, noting a significant transformation within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
His Highness the Amir's Representative is at the helm of the Kuwaiti delegation, which is participating in these high-level meetings, coinciding with the 46th ASEAN Summit.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was formed in 1967 and includes Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Brunei, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia. ASEAN maintains strategic partnerships with countries such as China, Japan, South Korea, the US, India, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the EU.
