Lebanon and Kuwait Pursue Enhanced Security Cooperation

Beirut: Visiting Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah and Lebanese Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar discussed on Monday ways and means of promoting bilateral security cooperation. During the meeting, Sheikh Fahad underlined the depth of fraternal relations between Kuwait and Lebanon and the significance of pushing forward security cooperation under the direction of the Kuwaiti leadership for supporting sisterly countries' security and stability.

According to Kuwait News Agency, both sides tackled security cooperation between both countries and mechanisms of developing joint coordination and bolstering the exchange of information and expertise in a way that contributes to upholding both sides' security and stability and addressing regional challenges and security variables. Following the meeting, an extended meeting was held between both ministers in the presence of both sides' senior security officials, aiming at advancing mechanisms of bilateral security cooperation.

The Kuwaiti minister's visit to Lebanon comes in the context of mutual commitment to cementing bilateral relations and broadening the scope of security cooperation in a bid to serve joint interests and uphold regional security.
