Lebanese President Condemns Israeli Airstrikes on Beqaa Towns

Kuwait city: Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Saturday condemned Israeli occupation airstrikes that were conducted overnight by land and sea, targeting the Sidon area and various towns in Beqaa. He described these actions as hostile and detrimental to stability.

According to Kuwait News Agency, President Aoun emphasized that the attacks undermine Lebanon's diplomatic efforts with friendly countries, particularly the United States, to stabilize the situation and halt hostilities. He asserted that these airstrikes represent a renewed violation of sovereignty and international obligations.

President Aoun further stated that the repeated assaults demonstrate a disregard for the international community's will, particularly United Nations resolutions that call for adherence to UN Security Council Resolution 1701. He urged responsible states to take action to stop these violations and prevent further escalation.

Meanwhile, Lebanon's Emergency Operations Center reported that the airstrikes on several Beqaa towns resulted in the deaths of 10 people and injuries to 24 others, including three children. Israeli occupation forces reportedly continue to violate ceasefire agreements and maintain positions inside Lebanese territory.
