Beirut: Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has called on the international community to take responsibility and intervene to stop the attacks on Lebanon and its people by the Israeli occupation forces, and to prevent further deterioration and bloodshed.
According to Kuwait News Agency, President Aoun, in a statement on Sunday, described the targeting of the southern suburbs of Beirut, which coincided with Independence Day, as yet another demonstration of the Israeli occupation's defiance of repeated calls to halt attacks on Lebanon. He emphasized that the Israeli occupation "refuses to implement international resolutions and all the efforts and initiatives to end the escalation and restore stability, not only to Lebanon but to the entire region."
President Aoun highlighted Lebanon's commitment to the cessation of hostilities for almost a year, noting that the country has repeatedly presented initiatives aimed at maintaining peace. He reiterated Lebanon's appeal to the international community to assume responsibility and take action to stop the attacks. The recent Israeli occupation targeted a building in Haret Hreik, southern Lebanon, resulting in an initial toll of one dead and 21 injured, along with significant damage to cars and surrounding buildings.
