Beirut: Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati has condemned the Israeli occupation's threats against civilians, asserting that the directives for citizens to vacate their homes and properties represent an additional crime in Tel Aviv's ongoing series of destructive acts. According to Kuwait News Agency, Mikati expressed this stance in a statement, revealing that he had communicated his concerns to diplomats. He called for increased pressure on Israel to cease its aggression, which he argues is in violation of international and humanitarian standards. Furthermore, the statement noted that Mikati had been in contact with the US envoy, Amos Hochstein, who indicated efforts were underway to influence Tel Aviv to adhere to the UN resolution 1701. Despite these efforts, Mikati expressed skepticism about the prospects for immediate de-escalation, citing Israel's persistent provocations and threats.
