Kuwait’s UN Envoy Offers Condolences at Former Namibian President’s Funeral

New York: Kuwait's Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Tareq Al-Bannai expressed his deepest condolences to Namibia over the death of former president Sam Nujoma. In a speech on behalf of the Arab Group during Nujoma's funeral at the UN headquarters in New York late Friday, Al-Bannai highlighted the former president's legacy and achievements.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Bannai emphasized that Nujoma's accomplishments extended beyond Namibia, having a significant impact across the African continent, particularly his efforts in securing independence for Namibia in 1990. The former president was internationally recognized for his efforts towards peace and equality and his strong collaboration with the UN in resolving conflicts peacefully.
