Kuwait’s Shooters Secure All Gold Medals at Asian Grand Prix

Kuwait city: The Kuwaiti shooting team triumphed at the Asian Shotgun Grand Prix, held on home soil, by clinching all available gold medals in the competition.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the national team bolstered their medal tally to seven, comprising four gold, two silver, and one bronze. This achievement cements their position as the dominant force in the championship, successfully securing all the gold medals offered.

On the final day of the tournament, Kuwaiti shooter Abdulaziz Almandeel emerged victorious in the skeet category, outpacing Pakistani competitor Usman Shand, who claimed the silver medal. Pakistani Imam Haroun completed the podium with a bronze medal finish.

In the women's division, Kuwaiti shooter Iman Al-Shammaa earned the gold medal. Following her, Sara Mohammad from Qatar and Adel Sadakbayeva from Kazakhstan secured silver and bronze respectively.

Duaij Alotaibi, President of the tournament's technical committee and the Kuwaiti and Arab shooting federations, dedicated this significant victory to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. In a statement to journalists, Al-Otaibi emphasized the championship's critical role as a preparatory event for the upcoming Olympic tournament in Los Angeles in 2028.

He also expressed gratitude towards the Minister of Information, Culture, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Almutairi for his unwavering support of the sport. Additionally, Al-Otaibi acknowledged the efforts of the Public Authority for Sports and other relevant organizations for their contribution to the successful hosting of the championship.
