Kuwait’s Q8 Hosts Energy and Industry Conference in Rome

Rome: Kuwait Petroleum International (Q8), in collaboration with the Italian company MAIRE, organized a high-level conference in Rome, Italy, to discuss global challenges related to the future of energy and industry. The conference, titled "Industry 5.0 and the Resilience of Strategic Logistics Structures," took place on Wednesday.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Q8 CEO Shafi Al-Ajmi emphasized the importance of balancing energy security with decarbonization efforts during his opening speech. He reiterated the company's commitment to achieving carbon neutrality and advancing innovations aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Managing Director of Q8 Italia, Bashar Al-Awadhi, highlighted the necessity of transitioning toward smart and resilient infrastructure. He stated that investing in carbon-reducing technology is crucial for enhancing future energy operations. The conference was attended by Kuwaiti Ambassador to Italy Nasser Al-Qahtani, Italian Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Giorgio Silli, and a group of government officials, experts, and decision-makers from various Italian institutions.

The event featured two panel discussions that examined the economic and social dimensions of industrial projects, as well as public policy frameworks at both national and international levels. In his concluding speech, Q8 Marketing EVP Fadel Al-Faraj stressed that sustainable development requires infrastructure that meets community needs with fairness and inclusivity.

The company operates an extensive network of more than 4,700 fuel stations across Europe, including over 900 in Italy. Additionally, Q8 supplies aviation fuel to over 70 airports worldwide, markets high-quality lubricants globally, and holds stakes in three major refineries located in Italy, Vietnam, and Oman through partnerships with leading international energy companies.
