Kuwait city: Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Social Affairs Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi emphasized that Kuwait serves as a model for other nations in elderly care, guided by the leadership's directives. The commitment aims to enhance wellbeing and maintain social unity under the Kuwait Vision 2035.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Dr. Al-Ajmi's remarks came during a session of the executive office of the GCC ministers of labor and social affairs. He stated that Kuwait has developed a comprehensive system for health, social, and psychological care, providing innovative support solutions for the elderly.
Dr. Al-Ajmi pointed out the issuance of over 40,000 'Awlawiya cards' to facilitate access to services for the elderly. The Ministry of Social Affairs has also deployed 23 medical teams to offer home health services, integrating family and institutional care systems. Additionally, Kuwait is upgrading social care infrastructure, including centers, clubs, and diwaniyas.
The event marked the launch of "the elderly future platform," in partnership with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. This initiative is part of the Second World Summit for Social Development in Qatar, scheduled for November 4-6.
