Kuwait’s Namaa Charity Opens Medical Clinic in Chad’s Capital

Kuwait city: Kuwait's Namaa Charity has inaugurated a medical clinic in the suburbs of Chad's capital, N'Djamena, aimed at serving over 1,000 patients each month across three underserved villages. The facility is designed to offer essential healthcare services, addressing critical gaps in the region's medical infrastructure.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Khaled Al-Shamri, the head of development and relief at Namaa Charity, explained that the two-story, 268-square-meter clinic includes various essential services. It houses clinics for women and children, a pharmacy, an emergency room, a laboratory, and accommodations for doctors. The initiative aims to deliver sustainable primary healthcare to communities in need.

Al-Shamri highlighted the pressing issues within Chad's healthcare system, pointing out that there are only 0.085 doctors per 1,000 people, based on data from the World Bank. The clinic's launch follows a comprehensive field study conducted alongside local partners to ensure that the facility is sustainable and involves the community in its operations.

He expressed gratitude towards Kuwait's leadership and relevant ministries for their support in humanitarian efforts, underscoring the nation's dedication to its global humanitarian responsibilities.
