Kuwait’s Junior Athletics Team Claims 4 Medals in Arab Competition

Kuwait city: Kuwait's junior athletics team on Monday claimed four medals, two of which gold, and two bronze medals, in the U18 Arab Athletics Championship hosted in Tunis and set between the 23rd and 27th of August. Kuwaiti athlete Mohammad Al-Duaij won the gold medal in the high jump, setting a new personal record of 2.06 meters and Asian champion Abdullatif Faisal claimed gold in the 800m race with a time of 1:52.64, placing him at the top among Arab competitors.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Abdulrahman Al-Azmi earned bronze in the long jump, setting a new Kuwaiti record in the youth category with a distance of 6.80 meters while rising talent Mahdi Al-Sabbagh won bronze in the pole vault, clearing 4.20 meters.

Kuwait's junior national team coach, Dr. Nasser Al-Jarallah told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) these achievements reflect the success of a long-term development plan set by the national team committee and the athletics federation.

The Arab U18 Athletics Championship features athletes from 18 countries competing in various events to showcase and develop young talent.
