Kuwait city: Kuwait's Ambassador to Tunisia, Mansour Al-Omar, confirmed Kuwait's commitment to supporting its athletes in global tournaments and forums. His statement came during a reception for the National Athletics Team Delegation participating in the 11th Arab Youth Athletics Championship, which commenced in Tunisia on August 23 and will conclude on August 27.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Ambassador Al-Omar congratulated the athletes on their achievements during the championship and expressed hopes for their continued success in future events. The Head of the Delegation, Abdul Aziz Manouh, appreciated the warm reception and the Embassy's support, presenting a commemorative shield to the Ambassador. He emphasized that the championship is part of a strategic plan to enhance the skills of young athletes against some of the best in the Arab world, preparing them for future international competitions.
The Kuwaiti athletes secured four medals at the event, including two golds. Mohammad Al-Duaij won first place in the high jump, achieving a personal best of 2.06 meters. Asian Champion Abdul Latif Faisal claimed gold in the 800m race. Abdul Rahman Al-Azmi earned a bronze in the long jump, setting a new Kuwaiti junior record with a leap of 6.80 meters. Additionally, Mahdi Al-Sabbagh won a bronze medal in the pole vault with a height of 4.20 meters.
