The timeline highlights key moments from the inauguration of a maternity hospital by an American missionary under the sponsorship of Amir Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to the recent decisions by the constitutional court.
According to Kuwait News Agency, in 1959, Kuwait Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah decreed the registration of Kuwaiti and foreign merchants’ names, marking a pivotal step in the regulation of commerce. This move was followed by a 1964 law ratifying an agreement with Iraq to supply Kuwait with fresh water, showcasing early efforts in regional cooperation and resource management.
In 1985, the formation of the 12th cabinet led by Crown Prince Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah was decreed by Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, highlighting a period of political restructuring.
