The year 2018 witnessed a major economic agreement when the Kuwait Oil Tankers Company signed a substantial contract worth USD 213.36 million with Hyundai industries to construct three giant gas tankers, marking a significant investment in the nation's energy sector.

Fast forward to 2021, Kuwait saw another leadership appointment with Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah entrusting Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Sabah as the new Prime Minister. The same year, the nation mourned the loss of Mohammad Al-Khatib, a former Al-Arabi SC and national football team player, who passed away at the age of 77.
