Kuwait’s CITRA: Protecting Digital Space Is Nat’l Responsibility


Kuwait city: Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) Dr. Khaled Al-Zamel affirmed that protecting the digital space is a national responsibility akin to protecting land and maritime borders. This statement was made during his speech at the Kuwait Cyber League Hackathon, organized by Dawrat in collaboration with Zain, with participation from students, enthusiasts, and professionals in the field.



According to Kuwait News Agency, Dr. Al-Zamel highlighted the event’s objective of enhancing the knowledge of the younger generation to safeguard personal and national digital assets. He stressed that cybersecurity has become the first line of defense for nations. CEO of Dawrat Mohammad Al-Suraye, in a similar speech, underlined the significance of such initiatives in uniting youth to develop their cybersecurity skills, aiming to build a generation capable of confronting cyberattacks.



The event offers cash prizes and the opportunity for winning teams to be nominated for participation in the regional cybersecurity competition in Egypt, involving more than 20 countries.
