Kuwait city: The Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), in collaboration with Microsoft, held a promotional workshop on Tuesday to highlight their strategic partnership established in March 2025. The event, under the patronage of Minister of State for Communication Affairs Omar Al-Omar, was designed to inform government personnel about the strategic directions of this collaboration, stated Najat Ibrahim, CAIT's Acting Director General, in a statement to KUNA.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the workshop serves as a platform to enhance cooperation between CAIT and public authorities, ensuring the effective execution of objectives to add value to the information technology sector and support the national digital transformation. CAIT has recently completed the necessary technical, financial, and administrative measures for implementation, setting the stage for a series of workshops to promote the initiative.
Since announcing the agreement, CAIT has aimed to make it "a tangible reality," with guidelines issued on May 7, 2025, to government departments on leveraging this partnership. Ibrahim emphasized that the accord is part of a broader framework to utilize advanced technology and computing services, including Azure, Microsoft product licenses, and technical support, to develop a safe digital infrastructure that fosters innovation and accelerates smart government services.
The agreement is intended to enhance digital transformation, improve government departments' efficiency, and promote AI usage in civil servants' tasks. Rawan Al-Slaiman, a CAIT engineer, confirmed to KUNA that the agreement will facilitate the integration of AI and computing in government operations.
The workshop's topics included discussions on the new collective contract with Microsoft, a visual presentation on AI (co-pilot-4 for Office 365), and an overview of the center's co-pilot initiative. It also covered the zero trust initiative, Azure computing, and the secure transition to Microsoft computing.
