Kuwaiti Soof Wool Mill Displays at Prestigious Fair in Italy

Rome: Kuwait’s Soof Wool Mill participated with a dedicated booth at the Exhibition on Sustainable Innovations, held in Rome, Italy, from September 29 to October 3. The fair was organized in conjunction with the Global Conference on Sustainable Livestock Transformations, spearheaded by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

According to Kuwait News Agency, the opening ceremony was led by FAO Director General Dr. Qu Dongyu and attended by notable figures including Nasser Al-Qahtani, Ambassador of Kuwait to Italy, Yousef Juhail, Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to FAO, and Sheikha Bibi Duaij Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Head of AlSadu Society. Dr. Abdulaziz Mohammad Altateeqi, from the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, also participated as a member of the conference’s External Advisory Panel.

The Kuwaiti booth garnered attention from ambassadors, permanent representatives of Gulf Cooperation Council member countries in Italy, and Rome-based UN organizations, alongside delegates from various other countries. Kuwait distinguished itself as the only Arab nation from the Near East region participating in the exhibition, joining other FAO member countries from different regions.

The Global Conference’s Taskforce evaluated and approved Kuwaiti Soof Wool Mill’s proposal, offering Kuwait a platform to showcase its role in sustainable, heritage-based industries. This opportunity allowed Kuwait to demonstrate its innovative wool processing practices that merge environmental consciousness with cultural heritage preservation.

AlSadu Society and Kuwaiti Soof Wool Mill expressed their gratitude to the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences and the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research for their support and cooperation in making this initiative successful.
